Introduction and Aims

Welcome to this course. It will provide you with the information that you need to play your part in protecting and promoting the well-being of the children and young people that you work with.

This course will cover:

• What safeguarding is
• What abuse is
• Regognising abuse
• Reponding to abuse

This course has been designed to be flexible. If you are familiar with the material, you can progress quickly through the course, moving to the knowledge checks. If however, you are not familiar with the material, you can take more time to look through the information provided. In some sections, there is optional additional information.

You do not need to complete the course in one sitting. So lng as you mark the sections as completed, you will be able to return to the course and pick up where you left off.
