Ava

You are Ava’s key worker, Ava is 2 years old. Ava has a 6 year old brother who attends the local school. Ava has recently become unusually clingy to her Mum at drop-off times and cries often throughout the day which is not like her. Ava’s Mum has recently become withdrawn during drop-off’s and pick-up’s and seems to be in a rush, not staying long enough for you to talk to her about your concerns regarding Ava’s change in behaviour. This morning during drop off you notice some bruising on Ava’s mum’s wrist which she quickly covered with her sleeve. Today Ava sat alone in the corner of the room, she looks sad, you go over and ask Ava if she is ok to which Ava replied ‘daddy angry, he hurt mummy, mummy cried.’
