Disguised Compliance
“Disguised compliance involves parents giving the appearance of co-operating with Children’s Social Care and other agencies to avoid raising suspicions and allay concerns. Often these parents will do what they believe to be “just enough” but without implementing real or lasting change. Sometimes there is a more intentional attempt to deceive. The common element, however, is that the parent appears to be cooperating with professionals, however, this is an illusion, not a reality.
